Annual CSI Charlotte Chapter Awards

Chapter Appreciation and Awards Dinner 2020

It's that time of year again... time for the Chapter Appreciation and Awards Dinner. This event is when we gather as a Chapter to celebrate another year of events and to recognize those who have contributed to the chapter's success. Being held again this year at Vivace in the Metropolitan Complex in Uptown Charlotte, it's going to be another great event. We encourage you to attend.

The Charlotte Chapter wants to hear from you. We want you to nominate someone for an award. There are a number of awards... please help us recognize those who you think contributed to this chapter over the last year.

Charlotte Member Appreciation Awards 2018

The Charlotte Chapter CSI met on May 16th at Vivace in Charlotte to recognize the outstanding efforts, service, and dedication of the many volunteers that make the chapter run smoothly and successfully.  The awards given by the chapter are one way we say “Thank You” to those that make a difference in our chapter’s activities and our communities.

Multiple individuals were recognized with the Service Award:

  • Sean King, CSI, CDT, FDAI
  • Kris Benton, CSI, CDT, Assoc AIA, LEED Green Associate
  • Kerry Kalish, CSI, CDT, Assoc AIA
  • Russell Hansen, CSI, LEED Green Associate
  • Doug Hileman, CSI

There were several Charlotte Chapter Certificates of Appreciation presented to the following for their service to the Chapter:

  • Amy Hockett, CSI, CDT, LEED GA
  • Steve Drane, CSI, CDT, AIA, LEED AP

The Greatest Enthusiastic Member (G.E.M.) Award was presented to Leanne Byrd, CSI, CDT, Assoc AIA for her infectious enthusiasm for all things CSI.

The Principle’s Award is annually presented to firms for outstanding enthusiastic support of CSI’s goals and principles via a demonstration of commitment to CSI through support of personnel, time, services, and/or facilities.  This year’s award was presented to McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture.

The Chapter Lighthouse Award is presented to a Chapter member who has made notable contribution and positive impact for the future of the Chapter.  This year’s award was presented to Nina Giglio, FCSI, CCS, AIA.

This year’s Chapter Publication Certificate was presented to Kris S. Benton, CSI, CDT, Assoc. AIA, LEED Green Associate, for his many contributions to our newsletter, ProSpective.

And lastly, Sean King, outgoing Chapter President, presented the President’s Certificate to Erica Kennedy, CSI, CDT, AIA, for her selfless contributions and service to the Chapter.

Congratulations to all the award recipients!  This annual banquet is not only an opportunity to recognize those that serve the Chapter, but to gather as friends and spouses to enjoy each other’s company.  This event, along with the Golf Tournament, represents the highlight of the Chapter’s social gatherings. (I define a social gathering as one where no technical program takes place!)  If you missed the event this year, look for a notice around April next year to participate in the next one.  If you’d like to be considered for an award, get involved and have fun!
