CSI Charlotte Foundation

About the Foundation:

The Goals of the Foundation

The CSI Charlotte Foundation is a private, not-for-profit charitable corporation organized under the General Statutes of North Carolina. It is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization for purposes of accepting contributions. The Foundation is a supporting organization to the Charlotte Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute.

The CSI Charlotte Foundation exists to promote the objectives of the Construction Specifications Institute and its Charlotte Chapter by providing scholarship funds to individuals to attend post-secondary educational institutions in programs of study related to the construction industry.

The Foundation's Purpose

The Benefits of the Foundation

The Foundation’s purpose is to further opportunities for individuals in construction sciences education, including architectural technology and design, specification writing, material science, and industry leadership. The Foundation is building an endowment that will fund grants for support of students in recognition of their financial needs, research capabilities, leadership activities, and academic performance.

The Construction Specifications Institute has a long history of promoting technical education among its members and within the construction industry through certification programs and through presentation of seminars locally, regionally, nationally, and via distance education media. CSI offers advanced professional certification programs for specifiers, construction contract administrators, and building product manufacturer representatives.

Outstanding students studying and conducting research in architecture, building construction, or material sciences, and providing volunteer leadership within the student construction community, will be eligible for consideration for Foundation support.

The Foundation scholarship program builds upon CSI Charlotte's twenty-plus year relationship with the University of North Carolina Charlotte School of Architecture, funding an annual scholarship for one or more students. Future activities of the Foundation may include support of additional students at other post-secondary schools when funding allows, and a development program to mentor early professionals in the architecture, engineering, and construction fields.

Are contributions to the CSI Charlotte Foundation tax deductible?

Yes. Contributions are charitable tax deductible as established by law. Individuals and companies may make donations via cash donations, sponsorships, memorials, bequests, planned giving, and matching grants.
